A stimulating introduction to issues around Environmental Citizenship - this booklet is part of the dissemination of insights from the 2004/5 seminar series.
The nine pages 'about environmental citizenship' on this website are taken from this booklet.

We explain why environmental citizenship is relevant to
- individual citizens,
- policy-makers,
- members of NGOs and
- community organisations.
We report some of the issues and insights raised during the 2004-5 seminar series on the role of citizenship in promoting sustainability. The booklet raises questions and gestures towards possible answers. It gives a taste of the kinds of debates that are central to the concept and, hopefully, prompts further thought and deliberation.
The 2004-5 seminar series was co-ordinated by Professor Andrew Dobson (Open University) and Dr Derek Bell (University of Newcastle) and funded by the ESRC. The final seminar was held at Goodenough College, London, May 2005.
